Introduction
Mulk Raj Anand was an Indian writer of English language novels and short stories, children's literature who is one of the pioneers of Indo-Anglian fiction. Together with R.K Narayan, Raja Rao, was one of the first Indian-based writers in English. He was a man who gain an International Readership. His literary carrier was begun by a family tragedy arising from the rigidity of the caste system. He was one of the pioneers of Indo-Anglian fiction.

Early Life:
Mulk Raj Anand was born on 12th December 1905 in Peshawar. He belongs to well known Kshatriya family. His father was Lalchand who was Head Clerk in British Indian Army. His mother was Ishwar Kaur who left for England for higher studies and joined the Cambridge University. He went to Kalsa College in Amritswar and then went to the university of Punjab from where he graduated in 1924.
Thereafter he went to University Collage in London on a scholarship before enrolling at the Cambridge University. He earned his Ph.D in 1929. In England, he actively became involved in left wing politics.
He met actress Kathleen van Gelder in London and the couple married in 1938. After that they got a beautiful gift a daughter. But unfortunately their marrige life was not good . Atlast they did divorced in 1948.
Later he married Shirin Vajibdar, a classical dancer.
He died in 2004 at the age of 98.
Professional life:
Mulk Raj Anand's writting carrier begn in England where he used to publish short reviews in T.S Eliot's magazine. a writer in English languages as returned to India in the year of 1939 and became a lecturer at the University of Boroda where he taught English Literature. He also served as a professor of philosophy at the University of Texas. He taught courses like Marxism to Gandhism and Indian philosophy: The Upanishads, The metaphysical Basics of Male and Female principles.
